Stone Mullion

Windows set into stone mullions are a common feature throughout the Cotswolds, however they can be difficult to maintain and are not very energy efficient. Fortunately Clearway specialise in the manufacture and replacement of stone mullion windows using aluminium profiles designed specifically for this situation. Our Crown 52 “odd leg” system copes with the profile of the stone to give a neat, attractive and energy efficient window. We have extensive experience of replacing stone mullion windows in period, modern and new build properties. We can also install into traditional hardwood frames.

Lead designs and glazing (astragal) bars can be faithfully reproduced if required and our modern polyester powder coating methods allow you to choose from any RAL colour for your frames. The new windows will be “A rated” for energy efficiency as well as giving improved security. Egress hinges (subject to window sizes) and two stage locking are also included. We also offer monkey tail and tear drop handles for that authentic touch.

If you property is listed or with a high level conservation area we recommend that you contact your local authority planning department prior to going ahead with replacing your windows.
